Our Story
The hotel is conceived around the core design philosophy of "Embracing Mountains and Sea, Rhythm of the Tides". Inspiration for all Grand Ocean View Hotel Zhuhai stems from their local environment. Thus, Grand Ocean View Hotel Zhuhai draws inspiration from the city's rich historical and cultural heritage, seamlessly blending with the charm and vitality of nature. Guests can savor Zhuhai's history and culture while enjoying natural beauty at every turn.
The plaque bearing the name "望海楼" (Wanghailou) features the calligraphy of Mr. Shang Chengzuo (商承祚), a national treasure of Chinese calligraphy. The entrance area preserves the iconic "Wanghailou" stone carving from the original hotel. Modern design elements are etched with historical character, using a unique spatial brushstroke to bridge the past and the future.
Floating Floral Boat · Dancing Light & Shadow
This artwork masterfully blends the rustic charm of copper with contemporary craftsmanship. The boat structure, crafted from exquisite copper material, overflows with vibrant, multi-layered floral arrangements. Resembling a blooming sea of flowers, it embodies the beauty and vitality of life in every detail. Standing serenely at the hotel’s main entrance facing the lobby, it becomes an artistic welcome for every guest, inviting them into a space of dreams and tranquility. Each visitor is touched by this interplay of beauty and light, marking the beginning of their unique journey.
Stone-walled Screen
The design team ingeniously repurposed bricks and tiles salvaged from the original Grand Ocean View Hotel Zhuhai, sculpting them into a stone screen wall. Here, the essence of the sea bridges past, present, and future—each fragment kiln-fired with the dancing glow of sunset on waves, as if capturing liquid gold
Sanzao paper-cutting art
At the far end of the lobby, the Sanzao paper-cutting art—a local intangible cultural heritage—commands attention. Bold yet intricate, it depicts the ocean bathed in morning light, narrating the sophistication of Zhuhai’s culture to every guest.
Life's Notes
Within the blue-and-white-toned lobby, adorned with the marine-inspired art installation "Life's Notes", guests linger as every turn reveals a new vignette. Wherever they wander, they immerse in the unfolding beauty. Here, at the confluence of mountain and sea, every visitor discovers a story uniquely their own—an experience endlessly captivating, endlessly humbling.
